In the SF Chronicle of Wednesday, Nov.28, 2007, page B10, is an article about fire danger in Marin County.

Part of the article says

"He (Kent Julin, the country forester) urged homeowners to start clearing brush and tree limbs around their houses. The state recommends 100 feet of defensible space--essentially a firebreak--be maintained around homes."

It seems to me there are hundreds of homes in Greenbrae that have very large trees within just a few feet of their homes, and this could be a major fire danger to all of us.

The GPOA could serve a valuable purpose by bringing this to homeowners' attention, and encouraging them to take the necessary steps.

Thanks for your attention.
